Jammu & Kashmir Government exposing mainstream opposition leaders to militants : Congress

Jammu, Aug 14: Expressing serious concern over the growing incidents of militant and antinational activities in various parts of the state, the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has taken strong exception to the move of the state government to selectively withdraw the security cover to its leaders and senior activists of the opposition, which amounts to exposing them to the designs of antinational forces.

Reacting to the moves of the state government to withdraw and downgrade the security cover and security vehicles to a number of senior leaders of the party including former ministers & legislators, on selective basis in the recent days, especially when the overall security situation have witnessed deteroration, the Congress said such actions reflect the political vendetta of the present coalition. These moves of the government have left mainstream politicians vulnerable to the designs of antinational forces and hamper the democratic activities of the mainstream opposition, which appears to be the intention behind such vindictive actions of the present government, it said.

Strongly criticizing these move  of the government and the concerned agencies, the party leaders have asked them to desist from such ill advised and politically biased steps in the sensitive state, where political considerations should not guide the security aspect in the prevailing situation.
