JAMMU ,MARCH 17 - A Two Day Jammu Lok Mela was today inaugurated by Dr Shahid Iqbal , Deputy Commissioner ,Udhampur .
The Lok Mela is being organized by the JK Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and North Zone Culture Centre Patiala in collaboration with District Administration, Udhampur.
Angrez Singh Rana, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rakesh Jamwal, Joint Director Planning, Dr Jagdish Mehra, Project Officer, DRDA, Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, were also in the presidium.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shahid Iqbal, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur complimented the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages for organizing such event and added that such Lok Melas not only showcase our rich cultures and tradition but also help to propagate the message of national integration
Earlier welcoming the gathering, Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary JKAACL highlighted the aims and objectives of holding the mega event in Udhampur. He also thanked Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur for the cooperation provided by the District Administration.
It was informed that tomorrow the programme will start at 3 pm.
Dr Rattan Basotra, Assistant Editor, conducted the proceedings of the function and vote of thanks was presented by Sh Ashok Gupta, Editor Dogri, JKAACL.
