Mufti led Government committed to resolve public issues on priority: Padder

KULGAM, JULY 23:- Stating that present dispensation led by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Syed is committed to resolve public issue besides fulfilling their aspirations and demands on priority, Minister of State for PHE, Forest, Animal Husbandry and Irrigation & Flood Control, Mr. Abdul Majeed Padder has said a well knit strategy has been formulated for socio-economic upliftment of people and for the overall development of the State.

The Minister said that while visiting various areas of Kulgam district includingDanaw Kandimarg, Bardi Jehhalan, Gulzarabad, Kotmarg, Chimmer, B.K. Marg and other areas of Noorabad Constituency.

During his visit, the Minister was accompanied by officers of district administration, Kulgam besides officers of PDD,PHE, CA&PD, R&B, Forest andIrrigation  & Flood Control Departments.

During the tour, the Minister took stock of various developmental works and received first hand appraisal from the public.

The Minister also visited residence Ms Shaheena who had died due to cloudburst at Kotmarg on July 15 and expressed solidarity and condolence with the bereaved family. He also disbursed cash relief of Rs 5000 to the next of the kin of the deceased and asked district authorities to speed up the process of ex gratia release.

While responding to the demands of the people who presented before him various issues including providing of fire wood, timber besides adequate supply of drinking water and electricity, the Minister assured them that all their issues would be redressed on priority and gave on spot directions to the concerned authorities for early mitigation.

Mr. Padder also visited Kandivar River and instructed for its dredging and desilting. He also directed construction of protection bund on the river to avoid entering of flood water through the connecting roads.

Meanwhile, the Minister held a series of public meetings at Gundwani, Jailbal, Hardmandgori and Balpora Danivar and got firsthand appraisal of public issues.

On the occasion, the Minister urged upon the officers to resolve public issues on priority and be prompt to redress their grievances. He also  directed them to utilize all out efforts for the convenience of the people. He also emphasized the district administration to ensure availability of adequate stocks of essential supplies in the district.
