JAMMU, Feb 21: Governor, N N Vohra has expressed grief over the loss of 5 personnel of CRPF and Army including two young Army officers, and a devoted civilian employee of EDI in the still continuing Terror Attack at Pampore. The Governor conveyed his sympathy to the bereaved families of the martyred soldiers and the civilian and prayed for peace to the departed souls. He has prayed for speedy recovery of the injured soldiers.
Governor has been constantly monitoring the situation with the top security officials including the Northern Army Commander and DGP.
Condemning the militant attack on EDI building at Pampore, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President and Member Parliament, Ms Mehbooba Mufti has expressed shock and grief over the killing of security personnel and a civilian in the ongoing encounter at EDI building in Pampore area of district Pulwama."No religion allows such dastardly acts of violence which lead to spilling of innocent blood and bring enormous tragedies to the families of the victims," Ms Mehbooba said in a statement.
She said Kashmir is going through a vicious circle of death and destruction for the past more than three decades and it has only brought miseries to the people. “The perpetrators of violence must realise that it is not through the gun and grenade that political problems are resolved. Dialogue and reconciliation are the only options for making headway in finding a solution,” she said and added that such acts of violence are aimed at not only disrupting the peace but weakening the State economy and destroying the infrastructure.Expressing solidarity with the bereaved families, she prayed for the everlasting peace of the departed souls. She also prayed for early recovery of the injured.
