Observers reduced to mute spectators in J&K Olympic Association elections; Rules flouted upon

JAMMU, Feb 18: Jammu and Kashmir Olympic Association (JKOA) elections witnessed all kind of drama with rules flouted upon and Observors reduced to mute spectators which were earlier stayed by the court, were held in a meeting of the Association at Amar Singh Club on Wednesday.

There were total Five observers , four observers from Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council , Joint Secretary State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma; Member State Sports Council, Ranjeet Kalra, BA Shah and Rashid Choudhary, where as  Suresh Sharma was the observer from Indian Olympic Association (IOA).

Sources told Cross Town News that the election  were held in an illegal manner, in violation of all the norms of Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Indian Olympic Association (IAO) and J&K State Sports Council,.

As per reports , 21 members were present in the meeting, which also included the representatives from J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association, Kho-Kho Association, Yoga Association and Skating Association, which otherwise are not the Olympic sports disciplines.

Jt Sec Sports Council , Shiv Kumar Sharma told Cross Town News  Observers were allowed to tell the guidelines and norms prescribed for electing office bearers of any Association and  JKOA flouted all the guidelines
