KATHUA, Feb 10:District Development Commissioner Ramesh Kumar today launched grievance redress mechanism under which officers and sectoral heads shall camp at tehsil headquarters including new administrative units to redress the grievances of the people.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that redress mechanism was devised to cater to the demands of the people. Under the plan all the officers and sectoral heads have to camp every Tuesday to take representations of individuals/deputations whereas sub-divisions having two new tehsils shall be covered subsequently on every Friday.
DDC said that to make this plan work an attendance monitoring system is also put in place to ensure presence of all officers. The decision was taken to give governance at the doorsteps of the people and to make the delivery accountable, transparent and reachable and strict instructions were passed to the officers to ensure the disposal of grievances of people in time bound manner, he added.
Later DDC also reviewed the functioning of the officers of Revenue department.ACR Atul Gupta, SDM’s, Tehsildar’s and officials of revenue department were present on the occasion.During the meeting, DDC reviewed the progress/working of the department. Encroachments on state land were discussed wherein DDC impressed upon the officers to keep strict vigil and report any such illegal occupation immediately especially in river bed (khads).
Progress under updation of National Population Register and AADHAAR was also reviewed in the meeting.
