JAMMU, Feb 10: MNEREGA scheme was launched by GOI to provide employment to families for fixed days per year but in J&K it is known to all that how the officers of RDD issued fake job cards on the names of minors/Govt. employees/dead. Case has been registered in Vigilance & frauds have been detected against lot of Block Development Officers. Even HHC has ceased the drawing & disbursing powers of some of the officers.
It is pertinent to mention here that RDD has recently fixed the labour rate Rs.170/day under the scheme to show the man days generated. It is the need of the day to see when the labour is available in the market @ Rs. 300 to 350/days, than it clearly speaks that labour days generated in the paper are fictitious is a matter of enquiry.
GOI on the information of these officers speaks that crore of men are provided employment in J&K but is not in actual. It is just to get more funds from GOI for their vested considerations.
It is the need of the day to be looked into by the Governor or Advisor to Governor to detect the MNEREGA scam by verifying how much amount allotted to particular area, how many works executed & what is the physical status of works/development of that area shall speak the story.
