JAMMU, Feb 09: Governor has taken a serious note of the casual practice adopted in Civil Secretariat and GAD has issued circular vide GAD of 2016, Dated: o9 .02.2016.
The order states” The Manual of Secretariat procedure provides for maintenance of office records. It has been observed that files are not being submitted to the authorities in a proper manner. In certain cases, file covers are not changed even after they get worn out. The note correspondence side of the files are generally neither page numbered nor maintained properly, as per the prescribed procedure.
The Hon'ble Governor has taken a serious note of the casual practice adopted while maintaining records and submission of the file(s) to the authorities. Accordingly, it is impressed upon all the Administrative Secretaries to ensure that:- (i) Note correspondence side of the files should be properly page- numbered; (ii) pages should be tagged in the file to prevent them from getting torn; and (iii) the file covers should be changed when required”.
