DC initiates action against 17 Non-Performing teachers in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Feb 08 - Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary today initiated Education Audit for Government schools to check performance of students before going to annual examination shortly and also examined the level of teaching in schools including teaching skills and knowledge base of teachers. The education performance audit of Government City High School and Girls High School was conducted wherein serious lapses were found and action initiated.

 

The students in Government City High School having a total strength of 193 having a staff of 17 Graduate and Post Graduate teachers exhibited dismal performance with students failing to answer even basic questions of syllabus. The teachers were also found complete lacking the knowledge of their own subjects and even basics of English, Science and Mathematics.

 

Similarly in Govt Girls High School having a staff strength of 18 for only 86 students the level of education and learning was found far below average expectancy.

 

The DC directed for random performance audit of all schools to know the quality of teaching, learning level of students and performance of staff. He expressed shock over teacher failing to answer even basic questions of general subjects for which they possess specialised degrees and asked the CEO to initiate strict action. Earlier, the CEO had inspected the schools and reported shortfalls.

 

PO DRDA Dr Jagdish Mehra, CEO Bishen Singh, ExEn PHE Rajesh Gupta, DSHO Dr Sanjeev Kumar, DIO Dr Ashwani Hansa and other officers accompanied the deputy commissioner.
