          13 percent growth was registered in tax collection in Kashmir division till January2016: Baseer Khan

SRINAGAR,  Feb 05: Commissioner Commercial Taxes, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today held a meeting to review the performance of the department in Kashmir division.

          

It was given out in the meeting that nearly 13 percent growth was registered in tax collection in Kashmir division till January2016. An amount of Rs. 1089.27 crores was realized in comparison to previous year’s Rs 964.84 crores.

          

The Commissioner was informed that there was an increase of Rs. 95.10 crores and Rs 29.50 crores revenue realisation under VAT and GST respectively till ending January 2016, thus registering a growth of 19.13 percent and 6.35 percent accordingly.

          

Baseer Khan asked the officers to work with zeal and directed for strict action against tax defaulters.
