JAMMU, Feb 05: Describing executive police an important pillar of the JKP, the Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. K. Rajendra Kumar has said that executive police has to play a vital role in strengthening its relations with people. He said that executive police, being the first responder to the problems of public has a great responsibility to win their trust by delivering justice.
This was disclosed by Mr. Rajendra today, while inspecting the police station R. S. Pura and other police posts coming under the border jurisdiction of Police Station. He was accompanied by IGP Jammu Zone, Mr. Danish Rana.
During his surprise inspection, he inspected Roznamcha register, FIR register, Lockup room, Maal-khana, kot, CCTN connectivity and crime related cases. He also interacted with the accused persons booked under various cases and lodged in lockup room. He also enquired about their involvement in different cases and present status of their cases.
During the inspection, Mr. Rajendra sought detailed reports of crime and other cases from the concerned investigating officers dealing with the cases. The SHO, Mr. Bushan Singh Manhas briefed the DGP about the progress of various cases, deployment of personnel and functioning of police station. He also informed about the cases related to the theft of vehicles in the jurisdiction of Thana.
DGP interacted with the cops and stressed that Thana Police has a great responsibility to deliver to public service at different locations including border areas. He said that timely and quick disposal of public grievances and better attitude at lowest level would build image of the Organization among the masses. He said that selfless service by the personnel would be recognized and the tainted, selfish elements would not be tolerated in the Organization.
Discussing about the crime in Thana jurisdiction, the DGP stressed upon the cops to chalk out an effective mechanism to deal with the challenge of crime firmly. He said that the investigation process should be stepped up to bring the culprits to justice. He asked to nab the evil before it raises its head and poses challenge to the law enforcing agencies.
