REASI, Feb 04: Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu and Kashmir, Shantmanu reviewed updation of Municipal and Assembly rolls at Reasi here today. Deputy Commissioner, Reasi Ms. Sushma Chauhan was also present on the occasion.ADDC Reasi Mr. Bhawani Singh Rakwal, ADC Reasi Shiv Kumar Gupta besides ERO’s, AERO’s and EO Municipality Reasi & Katra were present in the meeting.
CEO reviewed the preparedness of the election machinery of the district and also conducted review of the statistics of the recently conducted special summary revision of Electoral Rolls 2016. For Municipal Election, he instructed the ERO’s to segregate the voters of the assembly segments ward wise out of the final published Assembly Electoral Rolls immediately. He directed to carry out the physical verification of the polling stations to provide basic minimum facilities like water, electricity, Ramps, wash rooms etc.
Shantmanu appreciated the efforts of the DEO, EROs and AEROs for successful summary revision and asked them to enroll the left out voters, if any in continuous updation. He exhorted upon them to put special effort to enroll the female electors for their greater participation in upcoming Municipal and Panchayat Elections.
Earlier, DEO Reasi Ms Sushma Chauhan briefed CEO JK about the various preparations and activities carried out in the district for upcoming urban local bodies election and panchayat elections, SVEEP activities, status of EPICs and SSR electoral rolls.
