JAMMU, Jan 23: In last 6 months , Rahil Gupta , Member J&K Transport Advisory Committee, J&K Sports Council and Editor in Chief of Cross Town News put up Urban Transport Environment Improvement Committee (UTEIC) non-functioning issues at various forums and to Various Ministers; and UTEIC finally now have started acting over il-legal constructions in J&K.
Rahil Gupta discussed up the issues over UTEIC for non checking violations in the state with Ex DY CM Nirmal Singh (then Housing Minister), Ex Transport Minister AG Kohli (Concerned departments), they both assured of actions which finally happened.
Rahil brought up the non functioning issues at various forums and Board Meetings like J&K Transport Advisory Committee meeting and told the concerned authorities about the importance of keeping a check on violations and importance of adherence to Master Plan and the same issues were given wide coverage in Cross Town News editions.
Rahil also made a brief discussion with Divcom Jammu Pawan Kotwal, who happens to be the Chairman of UTEIC over UTEIC issues. Divcom with a month made a surprise visit to check violation and set the committee in the motion.
UTEIC Committee headed by the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, recently visited ongoing Commercial projects already cleared by the committee. While inspecting the projects, DivcOm directed authorities directed to take measurements of the buildings to ascertain the construction is raised as per the approved plan.
