JAMMU DECEMBER 28:  Chief Secretary, B B Vyas, today chaired a meeting of Administrative Secretaries of various departments and officers of police, various autonomous bodies and corporations to review the action taken on the recommendations of the anti-corruption agencies relating to sanction of prosecution and regular departmental action against accused employees.

Expressing concern over the slow pace in the disposal of these cases, Chief Secretary emphasised on the need for conclusion of these matters on a fast track basis to ensure timely departmental action against the accused employees.  He observed that the non-finalization of the pending departmental enquiries at times acts as an impediment in the promotion of an employee. Chief Secretary urged the Administrative Secretaries to personally monitor the departmental enquiries so as to bring them to a logical conclusion within the shortest possible time.

The Administrative Secretaries were directed to expedite the disposal of pending sanctions to the prosecution of employees found involved by the Vigilance Organization and Crime Branch in corrupt practices and ensure that a decision is taken within next one month.

Chief Secretary advised the Administrative Secretaries to exercise due diligence while writing the Annual Performance Reports of the officers/officials subordinate to them and to specifically bring on record instances of any delinquency/misconduct or inefficiency in these reports.

The departments were also advised to take required preventive measures on the basis of alert notes/advisories issued by the anti-corruption agencies so as to serve as a deterrent in future.
