DDC reviews IPPI preparedness

          UDHAMPUR DECEMBER-26: To review the preparedness of Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) campaign in the district, a meeting of District Task Force (DTF) was held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Ravinder Kumar,  who is also the Chairperson of District Health Society Udhampur, at DC office, here today.

During the meeting, Dy CMO, Dr. Santosh Sharma , Nodal Officer, gave power point presentation and briefed about preparedness of Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization phase whose 1st round  is scheduled on 28th of January 2018 .She said that as many as 540  vaccination booths would be setup in different parts of the district during the campaign to cover 87667 children of 0-5 years for vaccination. She also informed that 12 transit camps, 24 mobile teams along with 108 supervisors, 5 district monitors will be deployed in the district for polio immunization campaign in the district.

        The DDC directed the concerned officers to focus on high risk areas including slums and nomadic populations where chances of polio are on the higher side.  He exhorted that no children below 5 years should be left without polio drops in the district and called upon the officers of Health, ICDS, Social Welfare and Education departments to put in their sincere and coordinated efforts to make the district polio free.

   DDC stressed for organizing special awareness campaign by involving NGO,s for generating maximum awareness among the general public regarding Pulse Polio Campaign including survey of  child sex ratio also in the district. He emphasized on hundred percent successes in ensuing IPPI rounds and asked all members to work in coordination. He said a team of district officers will be constituted to monitor the whole process of programme at all blocks, he  added.

Earlier, CMO Dr. K.C Dogra, apprised the members about the comprehensive strategy and joint action plan to be adopted during the first round of IPPI programme. He also said that the first round of pulse polio campaign would be held on January 28, 2018 in the district which will be of three days. The first day will be at booths, second and third day will be a door to door exercise.

          Among others, Chief Planning Officer, Ashok Khajuria, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Angrez Singh, PO, ICDS, Rimpy Ohri, CEO, J.R Bhardwaj, ARTO, Kuldeep Singh and other district officers of various departments were present on the occasion.
