JAMMU, Aug 4 : Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee has condemned the police action over the peaceful protest by the people over the issue of ongoing agitation for AIIMS in Jammu.In a statement senior congress leaders Shri Sham Lal Sharma, Shri Raman Bhalla and Shri Vikram Malhotra strongly condemned the attitude of the administration to use police force against the peaceful and nonviolent display of anger by the people and detaining illegally the innocent people.
They criticized the administration for preventing the peaceful protests by the congress leaders and workers over the issue at Shaheedi Chowk who were expressing their solidarity with the people who have been observing peaceful and voluntary bandh for the last five days despite various tactics by the BJP to sabotage the movement.
The PCC Secretary Mr. Thomas Khokar and several others were detained by the police while at several other places in the city and outskirts including in Narwal Mandi and Akhnoor also they resorted to police action and detention of several people.
