No liquor shop at Srinagar International Airport, Srinagar : Excise Commissioner


Jammu, November 03: The Excise department has written to Airport Authority of India, Srinagar refusing to grant permission for liquor shop only after a gap of one day when a criticisem for the same arose into the matter.

The ordeer issued by Javed Khan, Exice Commissioner, J&K  issued vide No.EC/Exc/Misc/JKEL-2 /4549, dated 03-11-2017, copy of which is with Cross Town News adressed to Director, AAI reads as “In continuation to this office letter No. EC/Exc/1249 dated 13-10-2017 whereunder you have been intimated that the J&K excise Department shall not grant Liquor license for opening of liquor shop/ vend at Srinagar International airport in violation of to the provisions of J&K excise Act, 1958 and liquor License and Sales Rules, 1984.”

it is further intimated that opening of liquor vend/ shop at the international airport Srinagar will not be allowed/ permitted as such you may stop the process of any such proposal, as the Excise Department will not grant license required for opening of liquor vend/shop at the international airport.
