DDC Udhampur Shahid Iqbal  distributes sewing machines under CAP

 

UDHAMPUR,  Dec 19:Sewing machines were distributed among 16 women trainees who completed two months training in tailoring and embroidery organised under Civic Action Plan by Central Reserve Police Force at panchayat Mand East in Tikri.

         

District Development Commissioner, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary was chief guest while DIG Udhampur-Reasi range was guest of honour. SSP Udhampur Suleiman Choudhary, Commandant CRPF 137 Bn Mukesh Kumar, Commandant 187 Bn Satya Narayan Meena, Addl SP Mohan Lal Kaith, BDO Tikri, Naib Tehsildar, Sarpanchs and a large number of locals attended the programme.

         

The DDC sanctioned one permanent training centre under Community Development Plan on demand of panchayat and provided Rs 1.50 Lakh for its establishment. He also agreed for construction of Community Hall in convergence of funds under central award scheme, CDP, MGNREGA and CDF contribution being provided by MLA Udhampur and MoS Finance and IT Pawan Gupta. He lauded the role of CRPF under civic action plan and called for extending help from all the departments for such interventions on a larger scale in the district.

         

Speaking on the occasion, DIG Surinder Gupta appreciated the efforts of CRPF under Civic Action Plan. He said that training of women would provide enhanced livelihood opportunity to these families and added that permanent training centre sanctioned by district administration will help them harvest benefits of skill development. He also informed about various initiatives planned by  police department under civic action in the district during current year.

         

SSP Suleiman Choudhary, Commandant CRPF Mukesh Kumar and Sarpanch Mand East also spoke on the occasion. A number of public demands raised on the occasion were also addressed by the district administration which included allotment of state land for community hall, funds for infrastructure development, playfield and development of tribal hamlets.

         

Dr Shahid directed the departments for formulation of proposals and estimates within one week for initiation of various developmental works well within time. He also called for convergence of resources at Panchayat level for women skill development and production centre. He also thanked the DIG Surinder Gupta for a proactive role in civic action.
