           Steps afoot to strengthen sports infrastructure: Lal singh

JAMMU, Dec 19:The 10th Speed Dirt Track Racing Championship (SDTR) organized by the J&K Adventure Motor Sports Association (JKAMSA) concluded here todayMinister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings Choudhary Lal Singh who is also Chief Patron of JKAMSA distributed trophies among the winners of the Championship.

            

Secretary J&K State Sports Council, Javaid Ahmed Shah, Chairman JKAMSA J P Singh, President JKAMS Ranjit Singh, besides, general secretary JKAMSA, Territory Manager BPCL and other prominent persons were  present on the occasion.

          

Twenty-five bikers participated in the event, organized by JKAMSA in association with Bharat Patroleum and J&K State Sports Council and was sponsored by HDFC Bank, Pepsi and Kashmir Handloom House.

          

Speaking on the occasion Choudhary Lal Singh hailed the contribution of JKAMS for promoting  open speed mobike dirt track racing sports activities in three regions of the State. He said the motive and aim of these competitions is to promote driving and discipline on roads in J&K and to create awareness about the alarming number of deaths caused by accidents on the roads.

 

The Minister said that steps are afoot to provide better and conducive atmosphere to the budding sports persons adding that liberal funding under Sports sector to the State will help rebuild and strengthen the sports infrastructure.
