Srinagar, October 10: The PCI had said that the state Govt must pay for medical expenses of the journalists who have been injured while performing their professional duties & the journalists already injured should be reimbursed all the medical expenses incurred by them.
The PCI welcomed the recent state government announcement that it was planning to create a Journalists Welfare Fund.
It added that curfew passes and accreditation passes being carried by journalists should be honoured during curfews or restrictions by the security forces & the students of journalism studying in various media institutions in Kashmir should be provided opportunities to visit national capital for internships so that they can have better understanding of working journalism.
