
JAMMU, Aug 4:Jammu observed a shutdown for the fifth consecutive day on Tuesday as the agitation led by AIIMS Coordination Committee for establishment of fully fledge AIIMS in Jammu remained in full intensity.There were few aggreesive incidents reported.
AIIMS coordination committee has also threatened to intensify the stir if the government not issue the notification required as per the regulation and warned the BJP of severe consequences. AIIMS Coordination Committee Chairman Abhinav Sharma asked BJP to issue notification under AIIMS act of 2012 for AIIMS in Jammu else be ready to face the severe consequences.
Mostly shops remained closed and there was no public transport. Shops in few areas were open and few wholesalers opened their shops early morning for two hours.
As per Police sources more than 50 people have been taken into custody and most of them have been released .
