            JAMMU, Dec 12:Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings Choudhary Lal Singh on Saturday said that Government is keen to create better sports infrastructure across the State to give impetus to the sports activities.The Minister said this while interacting with the media persons, here today.

           

          Ch. Lal Singh, who is also Chief Patron of JKAMSA, informed that J&K Adventure Motor Sports (JKAMSA) is organizing 10th Speed Dirt Track Racing Championship (SDTR) from December 17 to 19 at M A Stadium, Parade Ground. The JKAMSA is also conducting the events including, Ladakh Motor Expeditions Women Car Rally, Mobike Rallies and Dirt Track Races for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir.

 

Minister said that about 30/40 bikers are expected to participate in the race in the category of below 180 CC, covering Aprox 9 km distance. The kilo-meters are being laid specially for the event with all safety measures putting in place. A cash prize amounting to Rs. 50 thousand shall be awarded amongst the winners besides trophies and mementos to the participants.

           

The Minister hailed the contribution of JKAMSA for the promotion of open speed mobike dirt track racing sports activities in three regions of the State and said that the Government is endeavouring to promote such sports activities in J&K to provide opportunities to the budding sports persons.He said the objective of organizing such competitions is to promote safe driving and discipline on roads besides creating awareness about the traffic rules in view of alarming number of deaths occurring due to road accidents.Chairman JKAMSA J P Singh, President JKAMSA Ranjit Singh, Vice President JKAMSA Sunil R P Sethi besides other representatives of JKAMSA were also present on the occasion.
