SRINAGAR, Sep 19: Srinagar Police has organized district level sports festival at Bakshi Stadium and Indoor stadium. It was three day event which started on 17th September. The three day event witnessed huge participation from youth and kids. About 1100 boys and girls participated in various sports and games activities. The activities organized were Football, Volleyball, Kabbadi, Kho Kho, Tug of War, Martial Arts- Wushu, Judo, Taekwondo, Tang Soo Do, athlectic events viz sprint races, Javellin, Discuss and Shot put. In football teams participated and winner is UFA. The victorious team in Volleyball boys is Scholars and girls is Legend School, The team which won in Kho Kho is from ACME. RCC Club emerged as winner in Tug of War. In martial arts in various forms and weight categories 45 competintions were held and more than 400 boys and girls participated in martial art events.
Today the closing cum prize distribution was held at Indoor stadium, where in Chief Guest IGP Kashmir Mr Munir Ahmed Khan, IPS joined by DIG CKR Mr. Ghulam Hassan Bhat, IPS; SSP Srinagar Mr Imtiaz Parray, IPS and other Police and Civil officers were present. IGP Mr. Munir Khan distributed prizes to winners in various games and sports. The winners and runners of the event would represent District Srinagar in range level games to be? organized in coming days. These sports actvities are being organized to provide a platform for identification of talent which can be nurtured to excel in time to come
