Srinagar, August 13: A Round Table Conference organized by Er Rasheed passed a resolution reading, Let the ruling alliance and opposition leaders of the State Assembly convene a special session of J&K Assembly and pass a resolution in defense of Article 35-A and Article 370.
The Conference also stressed upon upholding the stand against the petition seeking abrogation of Article 35-A filed in supreme court along with steps needed to tackle the proposed abrogation of article 35-A.
The resolutions were passed after participants that included AIP chief, civil society members, traders’ bodies, and Kashmir Bar Association gave their suggestions.
A coordination committee comprising of five members was also constituted in the conference that will discuss issues like abrogation of Article 35-A along with a gamut of other issues which include, noted lawyer G N Shaheen, Mufti Nasir, Hurriyat (M) leader Javid Mir, civil society member Shakeel Kalander and Awami National Conference vice-president Muzaffar Shah.
