Review of the strength and composition of the Jammu and Kashmir Police (Gazetted) Service


Srinagar, August 09:  Govt. issued order to Review of the strength and composition of the Jammu and Kashmir Police(Gazetted) Service vide Government Order No.1031-Home of 2017 Dated :09.08.2017, which reads as:-

In partial modification of Government Order No.653-Home (P) of 2017 dated 07.06.2017, the following substitutions shall be deemed to have been made in the said Government Order from the date of its issue: -

i. Sub-clause (d) of clause VI of the order, shall be substituted as under: -

"50% of the Junior Scale posts referred in (a) above shall be in the Selection Grade (non-functional) of PB:3 Rs.15600-39100 + GP Rs.5600-. A Junior Scale officer on
completion of five years substantive Service as A Junior Scale officer (Deputy Superintendent of Police)CTN shall be eligible for placement in the Selection Grade on the basis of seniority and on the recommendations of the Selection Committee, subject to the availability of vacancy and other eligibility conditions."
ii. Sub-clause (f) of clause VI of the order,shall be substituted as under: -
"30% of the Time Scale Posts referred in (c) above shall be in the Selection Grade-It of PB:3 Rs.15600-39100 + GP Rs.7600j-. A
Time Scale Officer shall be eligible for placement in the Selection Grade (H) - ~ (PB:3 RS.1S600-39100 + GP Rs.7600) after completion of 5 years service in the Time Scale or a cumulative Gazetted Service of 12 years, on the basis of senlorltv and on the recommendations of ttte Selection
Committee, subject to -the availability of vacancy and other eligibility conditions."

iii)  Sub-clause (g) of- clause VI of the order,be substituted as under: - "20% of the Time Scale PostsCTN referred in (c) above shall be in the Selection Grade-I of PB:4 RS.37400-67000 + GP Rs.8700/-. A Selection Grade (11) officer shall be eligible for placement in the Selection Grade (1)- (PB:4 RS.37400-67000 + GP. Rs.8700), after completion of 4 years service in the Selection Grade (11) or a cumulative police gazetted service of 16 years, on the recommendations of the Selection Committee and subject to availability of vacancy and other eligibility conditions."

iv. Sub-clause (h) of clause VI of the order, shall be substituted as under: - ". "Four (04) posts in the Super Time Scale-(i) of PB:4 RS.37400-67000 + GP Rs.8900/-, shall be added to the service and a Selection Grade (I) officer shall be eligible for placement in the said grade (PB:4 Rs.37400-67000 + GP Rs.8900) after completion of 2 years service in the Selection Grade (I) or a cumulative police gazetted service of 18 years. The placement will be subject to the condition that upon placement in this grade, the officer will be mandatorily posted against the identified posts in this grade  in the State Police Service.

The posts of DIG Vigilance and DIG Homeuards, Kashmir are- included alongwith 02 posts of Divisional Commandant, Home Guards/Civil Defence,CTN which are added to service and up-graded- to the level of posts in the grade of PB:4 Rs.37400-67000 + GP Rs.8900/-. These _04 posts shall be redesignated by the Home Department and utilized suitably in consultation with the PHQ."

v. Sub-clause (i) of clause VI of the order, shall be substituted as under: - "02 posts in the Super Time Scale-(ii) of PB:4 Rs.37400-67000 + GP of Rs.10000/- are added to the Service and a Super Time Scale-(i) officer with 4 years service in that grade or having a cumulative police gazetted service of 22 years shall be eligible for placement in the grade of (PB:4 Rs.37400-67000 + GP Rs.10000). The placement will be subject to the condition that upon his placement in this grade, the officer will be mandatorily posted against the identified posts in this grade in the State Police Service. The post of IGP, Commissioner Civil Military Liaison and IGP, Human Rights are added to the service for this purpose, which shall be suitably redesignated by the Home Department."
