Income Tax Dept Conducts Outreach Programme on various TDS Provisions under New Income Tax Act, 2025 at NZATI



JAMMU, Oct 09: An outreach and awareness programme on various provisions of Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) under the New Income Tax Act, 2025 was organized today at the Northern Zonal Accountancy Training Institute (NZATI), Jammu in collaboration with the Income Tax Department.

The programme was formally inaugurated by Shri. Rajesh Talwar, Director General/ Principal, NZATI, Jammu who welcomed Shri. Anil Dogra, Director, Accounts & Treasuries, Jammu and Sh. Rajneesh Kumar Gupta, Income Tax Officer (TDS). The technical session was conducted by Sh. Rajneesh Kumar Gupta and Sh. Hardeep Kumar, Inspector from Income Tax Department. They elaborated upon the legal framework governing TDS, procedural requirements relating to deduction and timely deposit, filing of statutory returns, reconciliation mechanisms, and the likely implications due to non-compliance.

The objective of this program was to enhance awareness and ensure proper understanding of the revised TDS provisions among Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) of various Government departments.

The session particularly focused on the recent changes introduced under the New Income Tax Act, 2025, compliance requirements relating to TDS deductions, filing procedures, and responsibilities of DDOs in ensuring timely and accurate tax compliance.

Participants appreciated the informative sessions and interactive discussions, which helped clarify practical aspects of TDS administration under the new legal framework
