JAMMU, Oct 06:The representatives of Moti Bazar shopkeepers today approached President, Chamber of Commerce & Industry Jammu and apprised him that JMC had sealed their shops yesterday night on the ground that footpaths were found covered and requested President CCI to get their shops de-sealed so that they can do their business.
Subsequently, President CCI Sh. Arun Gupta along with Office Bearers namely Sh. Rajeev Gupta, Jr. Vice President, Sh. Rajesh Gupta, Treasurer and the concerned shopkeepers called on the Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation and discussed the matter.
While speaking on the occasion, President CCI conveyed to Commissioner JMC that with the sealing of shops nobody is at gain, neither the shopkeepers nor JMC, but the customers of that area have suffered during this Pitru Paksh, as the people are busy purchasing items for performing the Shrads of their deceased dear ones who are not in this world now.
Earlier in the day MLA Yudhvir Sethi also met Commissioner JMC for de sealing of Shops, Commissioner Devansh Yadav assuered him for de sealing of Shops.
Commissioner JMC asked the concerned wing of JMC to de-seal the shops and asked shopkeepers not to indulge in occupying the footpaths, so that no action is taken against them, as it hampers free movement of pedestrians.
