Shimla, Sep 06: The Himachal Pradesh High Court has annulled the appointment of Surinder Kumar Vashisht as Chief Executive Officer-cum-Secretary of the Himachal Pradesh Housing and Urban Development Authority (HIMUDA), ruling that he was ineligible for the position under the applicable service rules.
Justice Jyotsna Yadav issued the order while allowing a writ petition filed by Er. Anjori Kapoor, a senior Chief Engineer at HIMUDA, who contested the upgrading of Vashisht’s post and his subsequent appointment as CEO-cum-Secretary.
The court directed the Government to commence a fresh selection process for the role in strict accordance with the Recruitment and Promotion Rules.
It ordered the competent authorities to convene a Screening Committee meeting within two weeks.
