LEH, Aug 30: Ladakh Director General of Police Anand Jain during his visit to the vibrant village of Chumur has emphasized the need for close cooperation, coordination and synergy among all stakeholders to ensure peace, security and stability in the sensitive border areas of the Union Territory.
He paid homage at a local monastery and interacted with security personnel deployed in the border area, before concluding his three-day tour of Changthang district.
The DGP interacted with the public at Chumathang, where he patiently listened to the grievances and concerns raised by local residents.
Jain assured the public that their genuine issues would be taken up with the concerned authorities for appropriate action. He was also accorded a guard of honour at Nyoma police station.
During his visit, the DGP thoroughly inspected the police station, including office records, infrastructure, and barracks of the police personnel, and appreciated the efforts of the officers and jawans serving in the challenging terrain of Changthang.
Subsequently, a public meeting was also held at the District Police Office, Changthang, which was among others attended by ‘Nambardars’ (village heads) of Nyoma, Mudh, and Nidder, along with prominent citizens of the area.
The DGP patiently heard public issues and assured continued support from the police administration.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Changthang, Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari briefed the DGP on the developmental initiatives, achievements, and community-oriented policing efforts undertaken by district police.
