Jammu, August 24, 2026: AIIMS Jammu is entering a new phase of leadership with the appointment of Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Sinha, Professor, Department of Medicine, AIIMS New Delhi, as the new Executive Director & CEO of AIIMS Jammu.
Sanjeev Sinha joins AIIMS Jammu on deputation from AIIMS New Delhi, bringing a rich blend of clinical expertise, academic experience and research orientation to the institution.
As Professor in the Department of Medicine at AIIMS New Delhi, Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Sinha has a distinguished academic and clinical background, with experience spanning patient care, teaching, medical training and research. His expertise is expected to bring valuable academic and scientific perspective to AIIMS Jammu.
Under his leadership, AIIMS Jammu shall be expanding and strengthening clinical services, enhancing the quality of medical education, promoting high-quality research and innovation, encouraging interdisciplinary academic collaboration and creating greater opportunities for faculty and students to engage in impactful research. His leadership is also expected to contribute towards building a strong culture of evidence-based clinical practice, academic excellence and research-driven healthcare, while further strengthening AIIMS Jammu as a centre of excellence.
The appointment of Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Sinha as Executive Director, AIIMS Jammu, has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for a period of three years from the date of assumption of charge, or until attaining the age of 70 years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The tenure of Prof. (Dr.) D. N. Sharma as Executive Director & CEO concludes with this leadership transition. He assumed charge of AIIMS Jammu on January 10, 2026, and served the institution during an important phase of its development. AIIMS Jammu acknowledges his valuable contribution and leadership during his tenure and conveys its best wishes for his future endeavours.
Speaking on the leadership transition, the AIIMS Jammu fraternity expressed its appreciation for the contribution of Prof. (Dr.) D.N Sharma and conveyed its warm welcome to Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Sinha, expressing confidence that his experience and vision will provide fresh impetus to the institution’s journey towards greater excellence.
