JAMMU, Aug 16:The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Anti-Corruption Branch, Jammu, has arrested Danish Hamid, Sub-Inspector, Police Station Janipur, Jammu.
As per details with Cross Town News , the case was registered on the basis of a complaint, wherein it was alleged that the accused was demanding bribe of Rs.20,000/- from the complainant for not lodging FIR against the complainant over a marital dispute.
During verification, the amount was negotiated and settled at Rs.10,000/-. After verification, an FIR vide RC0042026A0010 was registered and a trap was laid on 16.08.2026.
During the trap proceedings, the accused was caught-red handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.10,000/- from the complainant in the presence of independent witnesses.
Investigation in the case is continuing.
