Baramulla, August 12: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Baramulla, Pranjal J. Hazarika, today chaired a meeting at Dak Bungalow Baramulla to review the physical and financial progress of works being executed under Swachh Bharat Mission-Grameen (SBM-G) and District Capex for the current financial year.
The meeting was attended by the Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Baramulla, Chaudhary Mudasir Hussain, Executive Engineers of R&B, Block Development Officers (BDOs), Assistant Executive Engineers and other concerned officers and officials from various blocks of the district.
During the meeting, the ACP, through a detailed presentation, provided a comprehensive overview of the progress achieved under both heads, covering targets, works accorded and tendered, allotments, execution status, expenditure and other key performance indicators. It was informed that Under SBM-G, against a target of 670 works under various heads, 655 works have been accorded for which a total amount of Rs 985.00 Lacs has been allocated.
The works include construction of Community Compost Pits, Community Soakage Pits, Community Sanitary Complexes, Plastic Waste Management Units, Faecal Sludge Treatment Plants, DEWATS units, Segregation Sheds and Gobardhan unit.
The ADDC took detailed stock of the progress of different SBM-G components and stressed the need for accelerating implementation on the ground, particularly in respect of works that have already been accorded or tendered. Meanwhile, the meeting was informed that under District Capex Budget 2026-27, 2635 works were approved out of which 2586 have been accorded at an approved budget of 7297.33 lacs.
Taking a detailed review of the progress, ADDC directed all concerned officers to expedite the execution of works already tendered and allotted and ensure that there is no avoidable delay at any stage of implementation. Prinjal J. Hazarika stressed the need for close monitoring of works at the block level and regular field inspections to ensure that works are executed as per approved specifications and within the prescribed timelines.
