JAMMU, Aug 7: Senior Superintendent of Police Jammu, Joginder Singh, today chaired a crime review meeting with zonal Superintendents of Police, Sub-Divisional Police Officers and Station House Officers at District Police Lines to assess the law and order situation and review the progress of criminal investigations across the district.
During the meeting, the officers were directed to expedite the investigation and disposal of criminal cases and intensify action against drug trafficking, bovine smuggling, illegal mining, theft and other organised crimes.
Stress was also laid on improving conviction rates through quality investigation, effective execution of warrants, preventive policing and enhanced public outreach.
In view of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations, all officers were instructed to remain on the ground, increase police presence in their respective jurisdictions and conduct Cordon and Search Operations and Special Road Checks to strengthen the security grid.
The SSP also emphasised professional policing, accountability and prompt redressal of public grievances.
