Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay (Thalapathy Vijay) gave important directions regarding law and order and public service in a recent meeting of senior IAS and IPS officers.
He gave a clear instruction that officers should not delay in receiving complaints from the public and should act only within the framework of the law without succumbing to political pressure or influence.
Highlights of the main instructions:
1. No delay in filing FIRs The Chief Minister has given a strict instruction that there should be no delay in filing FIRs for any reason in cases of violence against women and cases registered under the POCSO Act.
2. Complete freedom for the law Officers should take decisions according to the law. He has given free rein to the officers, saying that there will be no interference from the Chief Minister himself in this process.
3. No special protection for the influential The directions have been issued that the culprits, no matter how influential they are, holding high positions or having political support, should be dealt with immediately and impartially without any prejudice.
These instructions reflect the government's commitment to women's safety, rule of law and transparent governance.
