Bhubneshwar, June 19: Odisha Vigilance conducted simultaneous raids on Friday at seven locations of Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) Satyanarayan Sethi, who is posted in Kotpad block of Koraput district, on charges of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Searches at his residences, offices, flats, and farmhouses located in Koraput, Khurda, and Kendrapada districts have so far uncovered substantial movable and immovable assets.
According to Vigilance, a preliminary inquiry was initiated following a complaint against Satyanarayan Sethi for holding assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
As per information released by Vigilance, assets uncovered so far in the name of Sethi and his family members include a 2-BHK flat, two farmhouses spread over more than 14 acres, and 32 valuable plots. These include a flat of approximately 1000 square feet in Jatni's Hi-Tech Plaza. The investigation has revealed a mango and eucalyptus plantation farm house spread over 10.03 acres in Taragaon mouza under Borigumma tehsil, as well as a second eucalyptus farm house spanning 4.35 acres.
Additionally, 32 plots located in Jaipur, Borigumma, Kotpad, and Patangi tehsil areas have also been identified.
During the raids, Rs 5.48 lakh in cash and about 300 grams of gold jewelry were also recovered. Meanwhile, investigations are underway into bank accounts, post office deposit schemes, and other financial investments. Vigilance officials stated that the search operation is still ongoing.
A detailed report will be issued after the complete valuation of all properties and investments. Further details awaited.
