MVD Ramban conducts major enforcement drive; 15 Vehicles E-Challaned, Two sehicles seized

RAMBAN, JUNE 14: Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, and in close coordination with District Police under the supervision of SSP Ramban Arun Gupta, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Ramban conducted a major enforcement drive at Maroog, Seri and Chanderkote along National Highway-44 in the district.

The drive was carried out by Team MVD Ramban on the directions of the Transport Commissioner, J&K, and under the supervision of ARTO Ramban with the objective of ensuring strict compliance with traffic regulations and enhancing road safety.

During the enforcement drive, more than 75 vehicles were checked for adherence to the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act and other road safety norms.

A total of 15 vehicles were e-challaned for various offences under the MV Act, attracting an expected penalty amount of Rs. 53,700. The violations detected included permit-related offences, operation of defective vehicles and other traffic rule violations.

As part of the enforcement action, two vehicles were seized for being operated in defective condition, while two driving licences were recommended for suspension for serious violations, including operating vehicles without valid permits and driving defective motor vehicles.

The ARTO Ramban Varun Bhasin urged vehicle owners, drivers and commuters to strictly follow traffic regulations, maintain their vehicles in roadworthy condition and carry all valid documents while driving to avoid legal action.

The Motor Vehicles Department and District Police will continue to conduct regular enforcement drives across the district to curb traffic violations and ensure the safety of all road users, ARTO said.
