JAMMU, June 12: The Housing and Urban Development Department is itself creating hurdles in development of Jammu by not issuing final notification for revised Jammu Master Plan-2032 despite knowing countless flaws in implementation of JMP-2032, but Govt has revised UBBL twice but when MP is not revised what is the fun of revising UBBL.
Above all failure of JMP-2032 was not framing of Zonal Plans, otherwise which was necessary to frame for more detailings of Building Bye Laws & was the condition in J&K Development Act of 1970 , more lot of Bye Laws of some buildings were not incorporated in MP, which created problems for clearance of Building permissions by adopting pick & choose by CTP/STPs?
Now, H&UDD is set to prepare comprehensive Regional Strategic Plans (RSPs) for the Jammu Metropolitan Region (JMR) and Srinagar Metropolitan Region (SMR) to ensure planned, sustainable and coordinated development.
The Regional Strategic Plans are being prepared under the provisions of the J&K Metropolitan Region Development Authorities Act, 2018, which led to the establishment of the Jammu Metropolitan Region Development Authority (JMRDA) and Srinagar Metropolitan Region Development Authority (SMRDA).
These authorities have been entrusted with coordinating development activities, reviewing existing plans and ensuring orderly growth across their respective metropolitan regions.
