Srinagar, June 4: Srinagar Police, in coordination with the Revenue Department, demolished an illegally constructed three-storey residential building valued at around ₹2 crore in the Rainawari area of Srinagar.
The property was reportedly linked to an alleged drug peddler and was demolished following an investigation into assets believed to have been acquired through unlawful means. Police said the structure had been raised on encroached government land, resulting in the recovery of valuable State property from unauthorized occupation.
The individual is facing multiple cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act registered in different districts of Kashmir.
During verification of assets, investigators allegedly found that the building constituted illegally acquired property and was linked to proceeds generated through narcotics-related activities.
After completion of legal procedures and in the presence of Revenue officials, the structure was razed as part of the ongoing drive against drug trafficking networks and their financial assets.
