SUNDERBANI: KMAS, Sunderbani, celebrated its 29th Foundation Day with great enthusiasm, patriotic fervour, and academic pride, marking nearly three decades of dedicated service in the field of education and nation-building.
Established in 1997 in the cherished memory of the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice during the 1971 Indo-Pak War, KMAS has emerged as one of the leading educational institutions of the region.
Affiliated with JKBOSE up to Class 10, the school continues to uphold its commitment to imparting quality education while nurturing discipline, leadership, and moral values among students.
The celebrations commenced with a warm welcome address by Principal Mrs. Neeru Sharma, who reflected upon the remarkable journey of the institution and highlighted its achievements over the years.
The Foundation Day programme featured a vibrant blend of patriotic songs, cultural performances, motivational presentations, and award ceremonies, showcasing the immense talent and confidence of the students. On this occasion Chief Guest appreciated the school management, staff, and students for their unwavering dedication towards academic excellence and character building. He commended the institution for introducing several progressive initiatives aimed at preparing students for future challenges.
Highlighting the school’s recent advancements Mrs Priya Aswal lauded the establishment of a modern technological laboratory for next-generation learning, the development of a shooting range, coaching facilities for Sainik School aspirants, the introduction of Boys and Girls NCC units, and the school’s active participation in inter-school competitions and co-curricular activities. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from parents, alumni, and members of the local community. Several distinguished alumni, who have excelled in various government departments and professional fields, were felicitated and acknowledged for bringing laurels to their alma mater.
Some alumni also joined the celebrations virtually and shared heartfelt messages, expressing gratitude and fond memories associated with their school days at KMAS. Special recognitions were also conferred upon dedicated staff members, supportive parents, and distinguished alumni for their valuable contributions towards the growth and progress of the institution.
The celebration concluded with a formal vote of thanks, followed by a renewed pledge by the school fraternity to continue striving for excellence and upholding the noble ideals on which the institution was founded.
