DC Kishtwar disburses  total of Rs. 05 lakh as compensation under J&K Road Accident Victim Fund

KISHTWAR, 08-05-2026:  In a considerate gesture to ease the hardship of grieving families, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma, (JKAS), today disbursed a total of Rs. 05 lakh as compensation under the J&K Road Accident Victim Fund, based on the cases submitted by ARTO Kishtwar,  Tasleem Wani (JKAS).

An amount of Rs. 1 lakh each was disbursed to the legal heirs of four deceased victims of road accidents, while Rs. 50 thousand each was provided to two grievously injured road accident victims.

This government initiative aims to extend timely financial support to those affected by tragic road accidents and reflects the administration’s continued commitment towards assisting bereaved and distressed families.

The families who received compensation included Makhni Begum, W/o Salu Gujjar, R/o Sranwan Thakraie (case of Ab Majeed); Asha Devi, W/o Late Mast Ram, R/o Pallali Paddar (case of Mast Ram); Hajera Begum, W/o Ali Mohd Zargar, R/o Sarthal Karool (case of Shagufta Ara); Gh. Hussain, S/o Mohd Akbar, R/o Patnazi Bunjwah (case of Saif Ali); Sohail Bashir, S/o Bashir Ahmed Mattoo, R/o Mulchhiter; and Shamima Akhtar Banoo, D/o Akhtar Hussain, R/o Patnazi Bunjwah.

The Deputy Commissioner reiterated the administration’s resolve to ensure prompt assistance to Road Accident victims and their families under welfare schemes meant for public support and relief.

This distribution marks an important step in providing financial assistance and acknowledging the distress faced by the families of road accident victims.
