Jammu,Apr 27: The Jammu Development Authority (JDA) conducted a stringent anti-encroachment drive at Khasra No. 115, Majeen, Khasra no 99 village Ragoora, Tehsil Jammu Khas, in a continued effort to reclaim and protect JDA land from illegal occupation.
During the drive, 20 structures, including 12 permanent constructions and 08 plinths, were demolished on the spot. These encroachments had been raised in blatant violation of the law. Notably, the said encroachments had been removed earlier as well; however, they were re-established with the active connivance of miscreants, demonstrating a willful and repeated defiance of authority.
It has been observed that certain property dealers and land grabbers are actively involved in illegal encroachment as well as unauthorized sale and purchase of JDA land, thereby misleading innocent buyers and causing significant loss to public assets.
The structures demolished during the present drive had also been removed earlier; however, the same were re-erected with the connivance of miscreants, reflecting a deliberate attempt to defy law and authority. JDA has taken serious note of such repeated violations and has initiated strict measures to curb these unlawful activities.
The Authority reiterates that any person found involved in encroachment, illegal construction, or fraudulent transactions of JDA land shall be dealt with strictly under the relevant provisions of law. The general public is cautioned in unequivocal terms to refrain from engaging in any sale or purchase of land without proper verification from JDA and to report any instances of encroachment or illegal activity to the Authority. Any person found involved, directly or indirectly, in such illegal transactions shall be held equally liable for legal consequences.
JDA reiterates its zero-tolerance policy against encroachments and illegal activities on public land and shall continue to carry out intensive drives to ensure strict enforcement of law and protection of government assets.
