DIG Sandeep Wazir  reviews Security in Rajouri Poonch

 JAMMU, Apr 26: Deputy Inspector General of Police, Rajouri-Poonch (RP) Range, Sandeep Wazir, today visited Poonch district to review the security situation and strengthen police-public relations.

He was accompanied by SSP Poonch Shafket Hussain and DySP Headquarters Neeraj Sharma. During the visit, public darbars were held at Police Station Mandi and Loran, where a large number of residents raised their grievances and local issues.

The DIG heard the complaints and directed officers on the spot for their early redressal. He stressed the need for responsive policing and close coordination with the public for better service delivery.

Interacting with the people, the DIG said public cooperation was important for maintaining peace and harmony in the region. He said support from citizens was necessary to tackle security challenges and check anti-social activities.

The DIG and SSP Poonch also reviewed security arrangements in the district by discussing measures to strengthen the border security grid, improve intelligence sharing and enhance operational preparedness.

Officers were asked to remain alert and take proactive steps to maintain law and order. They also sensitized the public about the harmful effects of drug abuse and highlighted the objectives of the ongoing Nasha Mukht Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan.

The visit concluded with police reiterating their commitment to peace, security and public welfare in Poonch district through people-friendly policing.
