BUDGAM, APRIL 23: It is to mention here that J&K Govt established various Tourism Development Authoritys vide SRO 525, the Jammu and Kashmir Development Act, 1970, and Government Order No. 262-TSM of 2005 but thereafter Chairman & Vice Chairmans were nominted in respective Boards & when Boards are established the said Boards are the authorities to resolve the issue related to concerned Authority but if Tourism Dev Authorities CEOs are not aware of the rules related to the matter following which Authorities are only working as "White Elephants" in the name of development of Tourist spots as lot of Authorities have no Master Plan & revised Master Plans of Patnitop Dev Authority is hanging in fire after MP of year 2000 in the hands of so called competent officers of Tourism Department heded by CM as Tourism Minister?
How developments can take place when there is no establishment of Engineering Wing in TDAs & how big team of non technical persons can plan & execute developments in the jurisdiction of said TDAs?
Tourism Secretary wrote to directly to Chief Town Planner of H&UDD over MP issues, otherwise the said matter was to be decided & approved by the BOD of concerned Authority by appointing on CTP for one Division for such discussions & decisions as where there are Boards, Chairman led BOD has to resolve the matter of concerned TDA .
However, one Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan, today chaired a meeting at the DC Office Complex Budgam to review and finalize the mechanism for preparation of the Master Plan for Doodhpathri.
Cross Town News had published story yesterday over failure of system over the issues of framing & revision of Master Plans of Tourism Development Authorities.
The meeting focused on formulation of the Master Plan in accordance with SRO 525, the Jammu and Kashmir Development Act, 1970, and Government Order No. 262-TSM of 2005, with special emphasis on the inclusion and planned development of areas notified under the Doodhpathri Development Authority (DDA).
The meeting was attended by senior officers including the Chief Executive Officer Doodhpathri Development Authority (DDA), Chief Town planner Kashmir, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Budgam, SE R&B circle Budgam, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Khansahib, ASP Budgam, Divisional Forest Officer Pir Panjal Division Budgam, and Divisional Head of the Ecology and Environment Department.
During the meeting, the DC conducted a comprehensive review of the ongoing Master Plan preparation for Doodhpathri and stressed the need for adopting modern technological interventions to ensure accuracy, transparency, and long-term sustainability.
The DC directed for completion of the GIS based mapping, ground level demarcation and detailed survey of the notified areas. He asked the Chief Town Planner Kashmir to involve expert institutions on master preparation for the exercise.
The DC directed the concerned departments to work in close coordination and ensure timely completion of demarcation, digitization, and time bound completion of the Master Plan exercise.
