Inter Ward Competition in  GMC Jammu to promote better sanitation and hygiene


JAMMU, Mar 14: A felicitation program in connection with the Inter-Ward Competition on Cleanliness, Hygiene and Sanitation was organized today at NS Pathania Hall, Government Medical College, Jammu. The competition was conducted among Emergency Wards, IPD Wards, OPD areas and other hospital sections to promote better sanitation and hygiene in the hospital.

 

The event was held in the august presence of the Principal & Dean, GMC, Dr. Ashutosh Gupta, Sh R.K Katoch,Administrator, Associated Hospitals Jammu, Dr Virender Trisal, Medical Superintendent, GMC Sh Abdul Jabbar, Personnel Officer, Ms Sonika Parihar, Administrative Officer, and Dr Shaista Ganai, Deputy Medical Superintendent, GMCH.


 The program was also attended by nursing staff, sanitation staff and other hospital employees, who had actively participated in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in their respective wards and departments.

 

On the occasion, the Principal & Dean, Administrator, Medical Superintendent and Personnel Officer addressed the gathering and appreciated the sincere efforts made by the nursing and sanitation staff in maintaining a clean and hygienic hospital environment. They emphasized the importance of sanitation and hygiene in healthcare institutions, highlighting that cleanliness plays a vital role in ensuring quality patient care and prevention of infections. They also issued directions regarding the roles, duties and future responsibilities of staff in sustaining high standards of sanitation and hygiene in the hospital.

 

During the program, prizes  were awarded to the Best Three Nursing In-charges, Best Three Wards, Best Sanitation Supervisor and Sanitation Workers in recognition of their outstanding contribution and dedication towards keeping the hospital neat and clean. Their services were highly appreciated by the hospital administration.
