LG Manoj Sinha addressed National Conference on Cold Water Fisheries at Srinagar and highlighted remarkable surge in fish production in the UT and infrastructure upgrades since 2020, reaffirming our resolve to empower fish farmers and propel them toward lasting prosperity.
LG said "Our strategic initiatives have positioned J&K as the leader in trout production across all cold-water states. Under HADP, launched in 2022, Rs. 233 crore was allocated for fisheries to incentivize entrepreneurship, establish hatcheries, trout farming & value-added ventures."
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah attended National Conference on Cold Water Fisheries at Srinagar.
In his address, the Chief Minister spoke about the significant growth of the fisheries sector in J&K. He emphasized the importance of scientific management, adoption of modern technologies and stronger market linkages to expand production and create sustainable livelihood opportunities for youth and fishing communities.
