JAMMU, Jan 12: After chairing a review meeting in Jammu , Chief Minister Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah while speaking to Reporters said that any assistance from the Centre would be beneficial, given the Union Territory’s weak financial condition.
J&K CM Omar Abdullah on the review meeting said , District Jammu's performance is on track , money allotted has been well used till now.
Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary ,Advisor to CM Nasir Wani, Ministers , MLAs attended the meeting.
Omar added that despite the constraints, the government remains committed to continuing initiatives announced in last year’s budget and further strengthening ongoing schemes.
On the National Law University controversy, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said "When Jammu was given an IIT and an IIM, what did Kashmir get at that time? Why did you not talk about parity then? Why was it not argued that one should be opened in Jammu and the other in Kashmir? No one seemed to object at that time. Now, when the issue of a National Law University comes up, you suddenly see discrimination. "
CM said " However, No decision has been taken yet on where it will be located."
