JAMMU, Jan 06: The National Medical Commission’s Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) has withdrawn the Letter of Permission (LoP) granted to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence, Kakryal, Reasi (Jammu & Kashmir), for running the MBBS course with 50 seats for the academic year 2025-26 .
After the surprise inspection , the decision, takes immediate effect after findings about non-compliance with minimum standards.
Sources told Cross Town News that to safeguard the interests of the students already admitted for the Academic Year 2025–26, the Authorities have been authorised to accommodate such students in other medical institutions within the Union Territory, as supernumerary seats, in accordance with applicable norms.
There have been protests in Jammu on admission row in the College by various organisations including Sangarsh Samiti , who also have called high level meeting after later development.
BJP Leaders also met Central Leaders and Authorities over the issue.
However , Group of Faculty members said we are heart broken as we had put hard work of more than 1 year.
But shortcoming of immense level like shortage of Tutors and lack of infrastructure , were the reason behind NMC’s decision
