Jammu, Jan 03: Member of Legislative Assembly Bahu, Vikram Randhawa Saturday chaired a Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) meeting at Gandhi Nagar Hospital to discuss the initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care services.
The meeting reviewed a series of quality improvement measures including upgrading hospital infrastructure and extending support to patients admitted without attendants.
At the outset, the Medical Superintendent Dr Narinder Singh Bhatial apprised the chair about the agenda of the meeting which included post facto sanctions regarding the procurement, repair works, payment of outsourced staff etc.
Other key issues discussed were the implementation of patient safety protocols, introduction of dress code for hospital staff and addressing workforce shortages across departments.
The MLA, who also serves as the Chairman of the Committee, pitched for creating top notch health care facilities and infrastructure to provide the best possible treatment to the patients.
Acknowledging the Hospital’s critical role in serving both urban and rural population, the Committee emphasized the importance of strengthening its healthcare capabilities to meet public needs effectively.
Later, the Chairman took a detailed tour of the hospital complex and inspected the Paediatrics Ward, OPD Block, Blood Bank, Maternity Ward and NICU.
Interacting with the patients and their attendants, he sought feedback on services and encouraged hospital staff to continue working with dedication and enthusiasm.
The meeting was attended by senior officials and doctors of the hospital along with representatives from PWD, PDD, PHE, AYUSH, NHM, Information and ICDS.
