CEO conducts inspection of 120 schools: Finds substandard meal quality, irregular staff attendance

RAJOURI, Dec 18: Taking serious cognizance of complaints regarding irregularities in the serving of Mid-Day Meals, Chief Education Officer Rajouri launched an innovative, large-scale and unprecedented inspection drive across the district to ensure quality education, nutritional standards, and effective school functioning & in a single, coordinated initiative, more than 120 schools across Rajouri district were inspected.

The drive aimed to assess multiple critical aspects, including MDM quality and menu compliance, staff attendance, academic performance, punctuality, utilization of funds, infrastructure development, and the physical condition of school buildings.

Under this intensified monitoring mechanism, special inspection teams were constituted and deployed simultaneously to different zones. These teams were tasked with verifying attendance records, checking the quality and prescribed menu of MDM, evaluating teaching-learning processes, reviewing fund utilisation, and inspecting ongoing and completed infrastructure works.

All teams were directed to meticulously document their observations and report discrepancies on priority. CEO personally conducted surprise inspections in several schools.
