JAMMU, Nov 19: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on 10th Dec 2024 chaired a high-level meeting at the Civil Secretariat to review the functioning of the Tourism Department and chart the way forward for a more sustainable, visitor-focused approach in Jammu and Kashmir’s tourism sector.
He also directed for urgent need for additional wayside amenities and certified clean toilet facilities along major tourist routes and at key destinations to elevate visitor satisfaction & we must build environmentally conscious infrastructure that respects J&K’s unique heritage and architecture.
Chief Minister Abdullah also urged regulated infrastructure growth in newly proposed destinations and developing tourist spots to ensure sustainable development.
Chief Minister gave instructions for strengthening of Tourism Development Authorities and taking immediate steps to prepare master plans for every development authority for planned development of tourism destinations.
But, Whether Tourism Department has prepared master plans for every development authority for planned development of tourism destinations in compliance to directions of Chief Minister, shall speak regarding their working?
Above all it is to mention here that Revised Master Plan of Patnitop development Authority is hanging in fire since years despite wastage of more than 10 lakh of rupees for preparation of revised Master Plan, otherwise it would have brough lakhs as building permission fee & other taxes along with new development but.
